Delicious and Tagging
I have always found search engines and tagging an interesting lesson in priorities and key words. If I think of "Blues", I think of music. When I used Delicious, you get all kinds of entries popping up, including mood and professional hockey teams. Programs and search engines seem to have a bias or a unique logic. "All the Web" seems very logical and less random than some of the other search engines. I suppose Delicious and other such programs allow personal input, but that can skew search results away from one line of thought down another one - which may not be the path you are thinking about personally. That is not necessarily a bad thing. Delicious is another search device that can be used in searching for sites that do not turn up on other search engines, giving me another tool to find things I am looking for.

I am getting hooked on all these new programs I am finding out about in Learn 2.0. I've got several RSS feeds now, giving me the latest sports and music information I am looking for.

Library Thing
You'll find my favourite 5 books on the Library Thing site. I won't say what they are - you'll have to find out for yourself.
I've added my favourite book and posted a picture of an aeroplane. My favourite book is Catch-22. I first read it while I lived in the farthest reaches of Northern Ontario. I realised that most of the crazy logic that is applied in Catch-22 was the same crazy logic that governed our community up there.

My band regularly plays "The Wiz" in Port Elgin - (The Wismer House bar). This is a shot of us in November. I want to put a calendar and countdown clock on this blog for our next performance but that is up in the air at the moment. Our singer has an offer to be a second guitarist in a country band with a small summer Canadian tour. This will pay real money, as opposed to the beer money we pick up every time we play. Once his schedule is worked out, we'll be able to book more dates.
Steve Ballard's Blog

My name is Steve Ballard and I work for the Walkerton and Area Adult Learning Centre. I am also a founding member of the bar band Ultrasound. You can look at some pictures and videos of the band on my Facebook site. I have found teaching Learn 2.0 very handy because I found about programs and devices that I would never have known about. These have come in handy in making promotional posters and material for my band. Letterjames is a handy program. The sign above was created with a generator. All I had to do was type in the text I wanted and it appeared on the Las Vegas sign automatically. The other guys in the band thought I had spent hours on it. One of the habits of a successful learner is to have a toolbox to assist us. The Generator section (Lesson 4, I think) of the Learn 2.0 program is a great toolbox.
